Group of (10) firemarks, mounted together on oak panel, to include: Franklin Fire of Philadelphia, issued 1835; Home of New Haven; Providence Washington of Rhode Island (in Spanish), lithographed tin; Royal Exchange Assurance of London, 20th century, aluminum; Aetna of Hartford, issued circa 1850; Glens Falls, NY Insurance Co., brass, (small hole); Columbia of Dayton, Ohio; National of Hartford, issued circa 1890; and Aetna of Hartford, issued circa 1860, (crease). All with surface scuffs and scratches, paint or enamel loss, some with misshaping or oxidation. Largest firemark (London) 7-3/4''h, 6-1/4''w; oak mount 56-1/2''h, 13-3/4''w. Together with (11) books, a poster, and (13) chapbooks and pamphlets on the subject of firemarks, including: (2) copies of ''Footprints of Assurance'' by Bulau, The MacMillan Company: New York, 1953, (one with badly torn dust jacket); ''Enjin! Enjin!'' by Dunshee, 1939; ''Fire Insurance House Marks of the United States'' by Gillespie and Walsh, 1915; ''British Firemarks from 1680'' by Fothergil, 1911; ''One Hundred Years: A Short History of Fires ... '' by Gray, 1929; ''American Fire Marks: The Insurance Company of North America Collection'', 1933; ''Lloyd's London: An Outline'' by Beeman, 1937; ''Ye Old Fire Laddies'' by Asbury, 1930; ''Fire Marks and Insurance Office Fire Brigades'' by Williams, 1927; ''To Have and to Hold: The Origin, Growth and Romance of Modern Property Insurance'', 1934. As a small auction house, we do not handle shipping internally. We do have a few options for you to choose from-
1. Local Pack & Ship- Uses FedEx or UPS to ship. East End Shipping can be reached at 631-874-7406 or email at eastportpackship@aol.com.
2. Local UPS Store- Can be reached at (631) 281-1122 or email at store6061@theupsstore.com.
3. Pickup at our gallery. We are located at 485 Montauk Hwy, East Moriches, NY 11940. We are open Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm for pickup. If picking up, applicable local sales tax will be added to your invoice. Please contact us before coming so we can retrieve your item(s).
4. If you purchased furniture or very large items, please email us and we can provide you a list of shippers to contact.
5. Naturally, you can also use an outside shipper of your choice.
