Whaling ship log of the Zephyr from New Bedford, beginning December 14, 1855 to December 8, 1856, last half of the journal contains glued newspaper clippings from the serial ''Orion, the Gold Beater; or, True Hearts and False'', by Sylvanus Cobb Jr., a pencil and watercolor drawing, and few records of crew and supplies aboard the W. M. Rice, Galveston, and the bark Texan Star, Boston in 1859, author of journal unknown. 13-1/4''h, 8-1/2''w. Whaling journal incomplete, many pages removed throughout, wear and losses to cover, including spine, residue from glued newspaper clippings to journal pages.
